Dear Sir,
[For Successful Implementation Of Budget]
IN THE WAKE OF THE UNION BUDGET 2009-10 presented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the big question that comes to every citizen's mind is: How are all these flagship schemes like NREGA (for which more funds have been allocated) going to be implemented successfully?
The purpose of the Budget is to achieve the desired results and targets. But at the same time, rampant corruption, petty politics and other administrative loopholes are the major barriers to the country's growth. Hence, stringent efforts are required to ensure the overall growth of the country and its people.
According to a recent UN report, corruption continues to be a crippling problem in the Asia-Pacific. Corruption is not only the root cause of major problems facing India but also a stumbling block to its economic growth. Some time ago, the World Bank cut $2 billion in funds for India's health sector after it came to light that its previous welfare schemes were plagued by corruption. Maintaining transparency and retaining accountability in the administration are necessary steps to fight the evil. In this regard, the Right to Information (RTI) Act holds promise.
