Budget 2009 Reaction

 

Looking at current global economic scenario, Finance Minister has put forward a growth oriented budget to stabilize the economy. By raising target for agriculture credit, the government has indirectly increased buying power of farmers, which will in turn increase consumption of other industries and will boost GDP. For corporates, abolition of Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) has provided breathing space. Organisations can save on taxes and spend little more freely. This move will give some pushes to related industries like travel & hospitality. Another significant step is full exemption from excise duty on branded jewellery. This will attract those people who have enough affordability to spend and will surely provide some boost to jewellery sector and will generate employment in this segment too.
