POST BUDGET REACTIONS FROM DR. GSK VELU, MANAGING DIRECTOR, METROPOLIS HEALTH SERVICES

 

• The biggest disappointment was the healthcare industry was not conferred Infrastructure status, as was ideally required. 
• Setting up hospitals in two and three tier cities are given benefits, however, high tech diagnostics, which are a much more expensive affair have been denied and benefits for settlement in two and three tier cities 
• Service tax is not exempted from clinical trials testing 
• Service tax is not exempted from Annual Maintenance Cost (AMC) of Continuous maintenance Cost (CMC), which ultimately increases the cost of healthcare
