BUDGET reaction: Symphony Services

Please find enclosed a reaction on the Union budget presented today from
Mr. SL Narayanan, CFO-Symphony Services.

SL Narayanan - CFO, Symphony Services

"The FM needs to be complimented on his initiatives to rationalize and
simplify the tax regime. The abolition of Fringe Benefit Tax is a step
in the right direction and addresses the long standing demand voiced by
several trade associations for doing away these multiple levies that
create unproductive work in compliance.

Secondly, it is indeed laudable that he has proposed some significant
reforms in the transfer pricing frameworks currently operating in India;
we believe that the new safe harbor clauses and the alternate dispute
resolution mechanism proposed will help avoid the vexatious litigation,
that have sapped the collective energies - of both the Department and
the corporate assesses - over the past few years."

Warm regards,

Susan John
